LAPS

Microsoft's LAPS (Local Administrator Password Solution) is a password management tool that secures and manages passwords for local administrator accounts on network computers.

When you have several computers in an organization, each of them has a local administrator account that allows you to manage and perform important tasks on that computer. Without LAPS, it's common for these local accounts to have the same password on all computers, which can pose a security problem. If an administrator password is compromised, all computers on the network may be vulnerable.

LAPS solves this problem by generating unique pass words for each local administrator account and storing them securely in a central directory (Active Directory).
