Windows Autopilot is a device deployment solution from Microsoft that simplifies the configuration and management of Windows 10 and later devices for businesses.

IT administrators register new Windows devices with the Autopilot service, then use the Intune management console to create Autopilot profiles that define the desired settings and configurations for the devices, such as application installation, security settings and corporate policies.

Autopilot profiles are assigned to registered devices according to the organization's needs.

When a user receives a Windows device registered with Autopilot, he or she starts it up and connects to the Internet. The device communicates with the Autopilot service and downloads the assigned profile, enabling automatic configuration according to the settings defined by the administrator.

The user follows a simplified, personalized configuration process, then logs in with his or her business credentials. The device is now ready for use, with pre-configured applications and settings.
